Saresa Yarbrough’s career started with pairing socks at a hosiery mill in Nashville, TN, where her grandmother worked. After her company was acquired, the plant where she worked was shut down — but not before Saresa snagged some data entry experience in the office.
Little did she know, this would be the start of a promising career in accounting! Today, Saresa counts more than 30 years of service with MRCO, where her current role is cash management.

THE PATH TO ACCOUNTING
After the hosiery plant closed, Saresa went on to work in accounts receivable for snack food giant Lance. But once again, found herself without a job when the company moved its accounting department elsewhere.
She decided to go back to school. Saresa remembers looking at job ads at the time and realizing she lacked certain skills. The desire to become more competitive led her to pursue a degree in business management.
Meanwhile, MRCO had an accounts payable job opening at our Brentwood headquarters, near where Saresa lived. She interviewed with the controller and the rest is history. Saresa was soon working full-time for MRCO and going to school at night.

Saresa says she hasn’t witnessed much turnover over the years. “Once you come in here, you realize the owners really care about you,” she says. “Most people know that here.”
