Feeling Out Fries in Nashville

Categories:

Wondering what the French fries test is all about? Normally, Taco Bell offers craveable seasoned fries on its a la carte menu seasonally.

In May, our famous brand decided to roll out a French fries test at 60-plus Taco Bells throughout Nashville (35 of which are MRCO’s) to evaluate the possibility of making fries a permanent menu item. Nashville is the only market in the country being tested.

“It’s a very thriving, growing city … with a very large, young, Gen Z population,” MRCO Partner Imaan Ferdowsi explains. “[It’s a] sounding board for the rest of the country.”

Only select locations are involved and how they test fries can vary. For example, Lead General Manager (LGM) Elizabeth Aguilar at our Murfreesboro Road location says all combo meals at her location include fries. Other testing locations may only include fries with some of their combos.

Fry Fever

This test is a pretty big deal. Taco Bell COO Mike Grams visited recently to check out how it’s going and solicit real feedback from our team.

But it’s the guests who will ultimately determine what’s best. So far, guests in Nashville are showing a positive, warm response to unlocking fries all year long — instead of just keeping them seasonal.

So far, there seems to be potential to make French fries a permanent menu item at Taco Bell. The current test in Nashville will continue through the end of the year.
