There’s a new face in the office! Joanna Ross is MRCO’s latest hire at company headquarters in Brentwood, TN. And she loves it — the atmosphere, the leadership, her work.

Joanna is our new Office Manager who’s also taking on the essential role of Executive Assistant to our next generation of leadership: Partners and siblings Shab and Shareef Aminmadani, and Amin and Imaan Ferdowsi. She strengthens MRCO’s existing exec-level administrative team as she joins our other devoted administrative assistant of 25 years.
FINDING A NEW PLACE TO CALL“HOME”
Joanna is still relatively new to Tennessee. She and her husband moved two years ago from southern California (where she was born and raised) after checking out Franklin during a weeklong vacation.
“There’s a sense of calm,” she says of the Tennessee vibes. Joanna says she just “had a feeling” after their visit that it would be a great place to live. They made the move within a year!
Joanna joins MRCO after serving as a call center manager for a local residential and commercial services company. She knew her last job wouldn’t be long-term; she’d planned to get back to being an executive assistant. In California, she’d worked in the health care industry, supervising multiple clinical departments at once.
This is a later-in-life career change Joanna says. “I was looking for a position or company where it would be the last company I’m at before retirement,” she admits.

GOOGLING GETS RESULTS!
How did Joanna find MRCO? She says she read about the company and its history online, and it was how we’d cared for employees that stood out to her. She‘d learned a lot from our website: she saw the “good stuff” and thought, is there another side I’m not seeing?
“The culture makes all the difference,” she says. “I’ve heard that people don’t usually quit jobs, they quit leadership.”
Not a problem here because Joanna has already been touched by our leadership team. In her words, she says: “The care and concern that they have for every single person who works for the company — be it headquarters or in the restaurants — it’s beyond what I think most people could hope for.”

Joanna has been with MRCO a mere five months and according to her, she’s received more appreciation in a matter of months than she’d felt previously during a decade of service! The crowning moment was when one of our partners recently confessed to her, “I wouldn’t be able to do my job without you.”
“It’s the type of company and type of leader I always wanted to work for,” she says in response. She appreciates finding personal connection here.
